Hiking, disovering and being fine in summer and winter
Explore the mountain "Kranzberg" with its wonderful trails and mountain lakes.
The "Lautersee" and "Ferchensee" are two of the most particular lakes nearby. During the warm months,
they attract many people for a refreshing swim. At the Lautersee there's also a possibility for boat rental.
If you do not fancy walking then you can get there with the Kranzberg chairlift.

Additional treat: If you stay for three nights or more, we offer a free ride upwards or downwards the chairlift!

We also recommend you a ride on the top of the Karwendel once in your life.
In addition to the wonderful view on the beautiful Isar valley, you can also find the nature information center
near the mountain resort, which has the highest altitude in Germany and the shape of a giant telescope.
Furthermore, Mittenwald is also an ideal place for mountain biking, mountaineering and skiing.
And in the SUMMER you can…
Carriage rides with our horses • Horse riding (at the stable by the lake Schmalensee)· swimming · play golf (golf course in Wallgau, about 6 km away) • biking (rental of e-bikes and mountain bikes opposite the "Biker-Bahnhof" in Mittenwald) ) · Visit the violin museum, folk theatre and folklore evenings (please book the dates in advance at our reception).
The location of Mittenwald also gives you the opportunity to explore the countries in the neighbourhood (Austria, Italy and Switzerland) in a day trip!

You just want to RELAX?
If you are "only" looking for recreation, then relax in the pedestrian zone, at the park or just with us, at the inn with a good Bavarian beer!
And of course we offer our help to organize your free time activities suitable to your needs.

MORE ABOUT US
WINTER
In winter, the ski area of the Kranzberg mountain is a very popular holiday destination for families. The slopes are recommended for all ages - everyone can have fun. You are looking for an adventure? Then we recommend the descent of the Dammkar.
Since this is a proper downhill slope (there are no groomed slopes), the Dammkar is only recommended for very experienced skiers.
The sleigh tracks of Kranzberg are also popular in winter. You can use the chairlift, or climb the Ederkanzel and then go down on a sleigh which can be rented at the Kranzberg station.
